TIRANA, July 4 /ATA/ – Albanian top state officials and politicians extended their wishes as the United States of America celebrates the 245th anniversary of its independence on Sunday, July 4.
The President of the Republic Ilir Meta sent a message of congratulations to US President Joe Biden on the US’ 245th Independence Day, expressing gratitude for the US support for Albania.
“The 245th anniversary of the Independence Day of the United States of America gives me the special pleasure to convey, on my behalf and that of the Albanian people, the warmest and cordial congratulations to You and the great American people who made this nation strong and prosperous,” Meta said in his letter.
He said “the same congratulatory message goes to all Albanian Americans who have significantly contributed to the strengthening of our relations. We are proud of our countrymen as I am sure you are too, and believe that our deep rooted friendship will only get stronger.”
Assembly Speaker Gramoz Ruçi said in his congratulatory message to the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi that American democracy is the most inspirational reference for building the democratic system.
“On behalf of the Albanian Parliament and on my own behalf, I send you my warmest congratulations on the occasion of July 4, the Independence Day of the United States of America, this major event not only in US history, but also in history and world developments. The Declaration of Independence and the founding of the United States of America was a blessing to the great American nation, but also to all freedom-loving and peace-loving nations across the planet,” Ruçi said.
The Chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha sent his US Independence Day wishes by quoting the Independence Declaration, writing: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
The Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group Taulant Balla wished the friendly American nation on the 245th Independence anniversary.
“On this this marked day for the friendly American nation, we remember Independence Day and the heroes who made it possible,” Balla said.
