TIRANA, May 31/ATA/ The third edition of the “Spirit of the Balkans” festival was held in the city of Korça, where various troupes from countries in the region performed dance and folk music.
Director of Korça Theatre Zamira Kita, who is also the organizer of the festival, said that this initiative aims to preserve folklore and is the best way to return to normal after more than a year in the pandemic.
Unlike the first edition, this time COVID-19 dictated another form of organization in which only 3 ensembles participated, the Macedonian Bitola Ensemble, the Skanderbeg Ensemble and that of Central Albania.
Kita said that, “This festival aims to preserve the tradition of exchanging experiences and preserving bridges of cooperation between the countries of the region.”
Folk songs, dances and instrumental music were applauded by Korça art lovers, but also by the tourists present by the stage set up at the Old Bazaar of Korça.
Next year, this festival is expected to be held with a more expanded program and greater participation of the Balkan countries. /m.m/j.p/p.s./
