TIRANA, May 16 /ATA/ – By I. Vata/ – The member of the Democratic Party’s Presidency Fatbardh Kadilli renewed his call on the party leader to step down and blamed him for the opposition’s defeat in the last month’s parliamentary election in Albania.
According to sources within a meeting of the main opposition party’s Presidency on Sunday, former MP Kadilli blamed Basha for the DP’s successive defeats.
“The problems that marred the elections should not serve as excuse for the defeat. You are the one to be blamed for a part of these problems and you have been also been unable to prevent these problems. You are useless in the institutional fight for the vote as we have employed best team and the most brilliant expertise. You are a repeated loser in elections and this happens because of your personal deficiencies and you should assume responsibility for the defeat,” Kadilli is quoted as saying during the meeting.
Shortly after the election results were announced, Fatbardh Kadilli urged Basha to step down and announced his candidacy for party’s chairmanship.
