TIRANA, March 3/ATA/ The Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party Taulant Balla in a statement to the media from the Presidency of the Assembly revealed details of the request addressed to the Albanian Parliament for the dismissal of President Ilir Meta.
Balla said that the request of the SP carries all the necessary evidence to initiate the process of dismissal of the president.
Balla clarified that the request of the Socialists, after the review in the Assembly, will pass to the Law Committee, from where the way will be opened for the establishment of the Inquiry Commission.
“I believe that you have been informed that since Friday the request of more than ¼ members of the Assembly has been institutionalized, about 50 deputies, who have submitted the request to the Speaker of the Assembly to start the procedure of dismissal of the president, because he recently and during the election campaign has committed actions that are contrary to the Constitution. Based on a previous resolution of the Assembly that asks the president to return to the rails set by the Constitution, regarding the exercise of duty by him, this did not happen, as he has continued to perform even after this resolution actions against the law “, said Balla.
In this regard, he said that, “the Assembly will express a decision in the coming days, regarding this request, which meets all the necessary conditions to be considered by the Assembly.”
