TIRANA, April 25 /ATA/ The Central Election Commission chairman, Ilirjan Celibashi, at a media briefing on Sunday at around 14:00 hrs, said that “manual identification is being conducted in 144 polling stations across the country.”
Regarding the progress of electoral process, he stressed that “there were sporadic cases of conflicts over the electoral administration, yet they risk the conduct and integrity of this process.”
We have been informed that in “Betim Muço” school where there are 12 polling stations, there was a gathering of people, which runs contrary to the election law and the CEC decision, so I take the moment to urge that whoever casts the ballot should leave the polling station,” said Celibashi.
We have sent in a commissioner to observe the case, Celibashi continued, and everything is under control and the process is running normally.
Regarding the turnout for election, Celibashi said that “the number 65 out of 5,199 polling stations is the number of polling stations that have reported now. So it is not the total number of polling stations.”
Celibashi, said that delays in reporting from polling stations across the country, have come due to problems with application which has been hacked.
“Few polling stations have reported because the CEC application was hacked a little bit earlier. Technicians are working to repair it, and if it is not fixed, we will proceed with the manual reporting,” said Celibashi.
