TIRANA, April 11/ATA/ Shirokas village is located only 6 km away from Shkodra. Under the shade of Tarabosh mountain and the lake, the early fishing village amazes with its appearance. They say, “It is blowing Shirok” i.e. a gentle breeze.
When you arrive by car you can stop by the newly reconstructed promenade area. The mosaic paved with carpet motifs, an invitation to enter the tradition of the area, will surely attract attention of everyone. In fact, for residents and visitors the promenade area is the center, because all the alleys lead there.
The Urban Revival of Shiroka aims to turn it into a tourist center, entertainment and rich in social activities in the service of the community. The project included the restoration of 2000 m2 of facades, the construction of 1500 m2 of new roofs, as well as the construction of a space of 1700 m2 of public parking. The reconstructed space of the square is 20,000 m2 in total.
The Albanian Telegraphic Agency journalist traveled to the village of the northwestern city and stopped to talk to visitors and residents of the area.
“We need to come here. We are retired and I believe that there is no cleaner air and better area than Shiroka. The investments made give us the opportunity to walk smoothly and enjoy the beauty of this area. An important investment has been made. There is no room here on Saturday and Sunday. We who are retired come here during the week. This investment that has been made here is very good, because it has given people the necessary distances and spaces “, – said a citizen for ATA.
“The change is very good for the residents of Shkodra and, not only. This is probably one of the spots that meets all the conditions, the beach, the fresh air, we have the mountain nearby and definitely already very good infrastructure. Very good investments have been made,” said another citizen.
“This is a favorite area for the residents of Shkodra and this investment here has made it very beautiful. It is a real pleasure to come and enjoy this area. This area is even more preferred now that the pedestrian, street, square here has been adjusted,” said another citizen, who came almost every day by bicycle to the Shiroka area.
“In my spare time, I come here with my friends to Shiroka. Well done! We usually come in the afternoon for a walk, this area is a pleasure. Fantastic change “, – said a young girl for ATA.
“I am from Shkodra and come here to Shiroka for the tranquility, something that this place gives. Many attractions, culture, history, and landscape beauty are intertwined here. I am pleased with the transformation the area has undergone here. Residents have been looking forward for this change for years.
