TIRANA, March 31 /ATA/ The Bank of Albania on Wednesday published the interventions in the money market for the fourth quarter of last year.
According to the BoA, the average daily injection through liquidity injection operations has almost remained unchanged at ALL 39.27 billion, compared to ALL 40.05 billion in the third quarter, but with a gradual increase compared to the beginning of the year, when BoA injections averaged 30 billion ALL.
Banks’ demand for liquidity in BoA operations was close to ALL 40 billion and increased to ALL 49 billion in October, to gradually decrease in the last 2 months of the year to about ALL 35 billion.
In the last 3 months of last year, money in circulation increased by ALL 13.89 billion with a higher concentration in December.
In total, during 2020, cash in circulation increased by ALL 52.41 billion.
