TIRANA, March 26/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that, “In present-day Albania, the number of tourists is not a problem, but it is necessary to improve the quality of the offer”.
During a meeting with tour operators in Durrës, PM Rama responded to their concerns on issues in various fields related to this sector.
“Today, fortunately, we have entered a phase when we have no problem with the number of tourists in normal conditions, i.e. without the pandemic. Serious operators have no problem while major hotels are looking for extra capacity. So, numbers are not a problem, but how to increase the quality of the offer is”, said Rama.
The prime minister also spoke about the problem that citizens and tourists face with urban transport.
“The problem of urban lines, as we have seen with Tirana at least, starting with my experience as mayor, is that urban lines are easily improved, but the problem is the cost they have and the price paid for the ticket,” said Rama .
In fact, in Tirana, he stated, “The improvement is unimaginable compared to what has been in the past, where all traffic was done by vans.”
Also, the prime minister stressed that, “It is intolerable that the first contact of the tourist at the first point when entering Albania is not perfect. We will continue to be aware that despite the improvements it is not possible for everything to be perfect.”/p.s./
