TIRANA, March 10/ATA/- The Chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha participated in the forum “Perspectives for a European future of Albania”, organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Political Academy.
Basha unveiled his plan to lead Albania towards the European Union.
According to him, this is achieved first by improving the lives of Albanians.
“I believe and hope that in order to improve the lives of all Albanians we must accelerate and guarantee a safe path to full membership in the European Union. I know and time has proved that this is a difficult task, there are many challenges ahead of us. The rule of law must be restored. We need to start a real war and a real national effort against corruption and organized crime and narcotics trafficking. This has not happened in the last 8 years,” he said.
“Substantive and substantial progress is and can only be the result of accelerated and deep reforms that will affect part of the Albanian citizens and that will be easily traceable by all parties. Qualified staff will be part of this agency, which will manage and review all state contracts to end the horrific practices that have left the country without and a significant strategic investment by Europe and the US in these 8 years and has raised suspicions from offshore actors who are swallowing up and sucking in and increasing our national public debt. We will enforce anti-mafia legislation to make it impossible for it to be so easily controlled by organized crime in all instances, private investment and public procurement.
The challenges and trials that are ahead of us are really great, but the potential of our country is just as great “, concluded Basha./p.s./
