The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that in addition to supporting the development of agriculture and the rural sector in all its components, it is considering with priority the use of new technologies in this sector, which modernize agricultural activity and make it competitive even in foreign markets.
Smart Agriculture – The project for the development of innovation in agriculture, aims to create new businesses on the farms of the future.
The ministry, supported by the European Union, has started implementation of this project in Korça, initially giving training opportunities to young people in the field of smart agriculture in order to apply them on agricultural farms or incentives to build new smart farms.
Experts say that this is another good opportunity to restore the interest of young people in agriculture and the advanced development of this sector.
“Working in agriculture does not have to be difficult if the right technology and information is used. Therefore, young people who are learned or passionate about agriculture or agronomy, are looking with interest at this project, for an advanced development of their farm, which increases more income in the family economy “, said the experts.
During the last two years, Agency for Rural Development and Agriculture, through the IPARD Program has injected about 19 million euros in grants in the modernization of technology in agriculture. /a.a/p.s./
