TIRANA, February 4 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama focused today on the economic program of the Democratic Party, and especially the statement by the DP Chairman Lulzim Basha that they will increase pensions and reduce contributions to social insurances.
PM Rama said that pensions are financed by social insurances and that Basha’s logic is to handle things peremptorily, just as the DP has done when the power was in its hands.
“I have many reasons to be personally dissatisfied because the opportunities are for more and the needs are for much more. The work we have done so far is no reason to be satisfied, but it is the indisputable proof that this is the way,” he said.
Rama added that, “We must be patient, work and every day achieve a little, every day do the right thing so that to get where we need to be”.
“There is no magic formula. And when I talk about magic formulas, I want to re-illustrate a magic formula. It is interesting that you have heard and will hear from my sleeping friend, Lulzim Basha: ‘We will reduce social insurances and increase pensions’. Pensions are financed by social insurances and today Albania has an inherited deficit, because it pays more pensions than it collects contributions. This is like to reduce milk production and increase cheese production ?!”, said Rama.
Also, Rama added that, “Gambling, casinos will not be re-opened”./r.e/p.s./
