TIRANA, Jan 20 /ATA/ Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Milva Ekonomi, held an online meeting on Wednesday with the heads of Regional Directorates of Irrigation and Drainage focused on management of post-rainfall situation.
Minister of Economy informed the representatives at the meeting that based on the information forwarded by the National Agency of Civil Protection, heavy downpour is forecast for January 22-26.
She asked the regional directorates of irrigation and drainage in the country to put the relevant structures on high alert to respond promptly to any situation that may be triggered by the rainfall.
Ekonomi also asked from representatives of GDID to monitor the infrastructure of pumping stations and drainage ditches.
In her remarks, the Minister put the emphasis on continuation of coordination with other actors such as the Prefecture, OSHEE and Civil Emergencies to mitigate the consequences that may be caused by bad weather.
