“SP has abided by June agreement/Balla: Opposition should not hamper emigrants’ vote

TIRANA, January 16 /ATA/- The Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party Taulant Balla said today that, “The opening of the  lists of candidates for MP is a historic moment. I am very proud that the Assembly has taken this decision and the SP was the supporting force to give the opportunity to every citizen who will vote on April 25 to express themselves with two votes, one for the party and one for the candidate within the list”.

In a statement to the media, Balla said that, “This opportunity was created for a greater inclusion of voters in the selection of the next Assembly and for the SP it was an opportunity to expand our only alliance with the people.”

Asked if the SP has violated the June 5 agreement on changes to the Electoral Code, Balla said that “This agreement has been respected by the SP. I want to tell the DP and SMI that part of the agreement has been and remains the vote of emigrants living abroad.”

“As long as the SP has stuck to this agreement, I want these parties with their representatives in the new CEC bodies not to raise and not to obstruct the vote of Albanians living outside the territory,” said Balla, adding that it is an obligation of Albanian politics to go to the end of it.

According to him, it is up to the CEC to enable the vote of Albanians living outside the territory./p.s./
