TIRANA, January 16 /ATA/ The “Blue Box” system is being applied for the first time in the fishing sector in Albania, the same like in all European Union countries.
The system is for the management and satellite control of the location of ships.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milva Ekonomi, in an interview for ATA, said that, “The establishment of the Blu Box system has been one of the EU requirements for fishing. It is the finding of fishing vessels in every reference”.
“This is a project that has started a long time ago, and has already ended. The service is provided by AKSHI, which is an online and geo-reference service “, said Ekonomi.
The minister said that the government supports this system for all fishermen through payment of the Blue Box tax.
The Blue Box system is an investment of the Albanian government.
