TIRANA, January 14 /ATA/ The Justice Appointments Council (KED) held its first meeting today in the premises of the Supreme Court, which is also the seat of the KED.
KED assessed that with its constitution, it should immediately commit to fulfill all the competencies and obligations imposed by the Constitution and the law, which are unique and irreplaceable regarding the verification, evaluation and ranking of candidates for vacant positions for judges in the Constitutional Court.
Appreciating the commitment and the large workload faced during 2020, but also some problems that appeared in this regard, the Council assessed that its staff is insufficient to realize the full and effective support of the activity of KED for 2021.
Therefore, based on the constitutional and legal provisions for filling the vacancies in the Constitutional Court for 2021, it was decided to be considered the need for immediate additional staff support./mm // aa /p.s./
