TIRANA, Jan 13 /ATA/ / The High Inspector of Justice, Artur Metani, hosted on Wednesday the OPDAT Department of Justice Resident Legal Adviser at U.S. Embassy in Tirana, Michelle Lakomy.
Metani briefed Lakomy on the work of the Office of the High Inspector of Justice in verifying the complaints, investigating disciplinary violations and initiating disciplinary proceedings against judges and prosecutors of all levels, as well as the vision of this process as a balance between principles of public interest for the administration of justice and independence of magistrates.
For her part, the OPDAT Legal Adviser Lakomy expressed readiness to assist the Office of the High Inspector of Justice with capacity building and professional expertise.
Both Metani and Lakomy expressed their willingness to establish cooperation between the Office of the Chief Justice Inspector and the U.S. Department of Justice OPDAT program.
