Gjata: Opposition supports protests, but is not their organizer

TIRANA, December 14 /ATA/- The Democratic Party is not the organizer of the protests, stated today the Secretary for Legal Affairs in DP Çlirim Gjata, in a television interview.

Speaking about the protests, Gjata said that the way the arrests are being made is all calculated to frighten people.

“There are facts that speak against the general director of the state police, from the beginning of the situation,” he said.

Further, Gjata claimed that there is abuse of office by Veliu even during the protest.

As for damages to public or private property, Gjata said nothing happened to private property. “Let’s not forget, this is not taken out of context. There was a murder,” he said.

Gjata described resignation of the Minister of Interior as “burning a figure”, according to him, when it was seen that the situation was out of control.

Regarding the accusations that DP, SMI and Berisha are paying the minor to cause riots, Gjata stressed that the opposition supports the protests, but does not organize them. /j.p/p.s./
