TIRANA, October 20/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama and Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu have held a meeting with the antiCovid task force set up by the prime minister to inspect the observance of the measures imposed to limit the spread of Covid19.
During her speech, Manastirliu said that a path led by the Technical Committee of Experts has been chosen to avoid a second closure or an increase in restrictions.
“We have chosen a path that we believe has fewer effects. But, that is a path led by a Committee of Experts that will bring us a reduction in the number of infections, or a maintenance of the number of infections in relation to the population. The next three months will be difficult, but as it is widely accepted by international institutions, putting a mask everywhere significantly reduces the risk of spreading this dangerous virus. Regardless of the work you will do in the field, and the work that the state and municipal police are doing in relation to the law enforcement task, we will be as well prepared as we can for our capacities to be able to withstand the increased flows. We would not like any second closure, no drastic restrictions, but no overload of the health system “, said Manastirliu in her speech.
Manastirliu said that the inspectors have so far conducted more than 200 thousand inspections for the implementation of safety protocols, adding that the focus of inspections towards health should be reshaped.
During her speech, Manastirliu said that currently 25% of the capacity of the two Covid hospitals is free, but if there is an increase in cases, the Covid 3 and Covid4 hospitals are ready to provide services.
“Even in the autumn-winter strategy we have foreseen to include regional hospitals if there will be an increase of positive cases, patients who will need hospital service and thus to provide the highest quality service for all”, said Manastirliu. /j.p/p.s./
