TIRANA, Oct. 19 /ATA/- President of the Republic of Albania, Ilir Meta said today in a statement to the media that “he is running a campaign to respect the June 5 agreement, as vital for the country.
“Not only for the opening of accession negotiations, but also for the peace and stability in the country, and the legitimacy of institutions”, said Meta.
“Thus, everybody must urgently reflect in order to not turn April 25 into a referendum. It will be the biggest referendum that the Albanian nation will hold since the Skanderbeg period. Because Skanderbeg has defined in the clearest way the European orientation of our nation and no one can stop this anymore, “the President Meta said.
According to President Meta, the first duty of the President of the Republic is the protection of the Constitution, who is not only the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, but also the first soldier of the Republic.
“Everybody must be aware of that. The time has come to identify the honest and patriotic politicians and also citizens,” the President Meta said in a statement to the media.
Also, President Meta stated today that the Normative Act that fines citizens for not wearing masks is a masquerade, as it flagrantly violates the rights of citizens.//a.i/
