TIRANA, Aug 13 /ATA/ The Bank of Albania announces that the budget expenditures expanded by 1.2% in annual terms in the second quarter of the year.
Direct government payments as part of the financial support reflected in both fiscal packages, represented about 10% of the total expenditures financed in the second quarter.
Transfers for current employees, but unpaid by employers, or for those laid off due to the pandemic, contributed by about 9.2% to the increase in overall expenditures for the second quarter.
On the other hand, almost all other items of expenditure (excluding expenditure on economic assistance as well as expenditure on unemployment allowance) contracted in annual terms, mainly due to the partial freezing of some items, such as local government expenditures, capital expenditures, operating expenditures, etc.
These items also recorded the highest negative contributions to the rise of total expenditures, by 3.9, 2.9 and 0.8%, respectively.
