Bad weather countrywide/Beaches get empty because of rain

TIRANA, August 5 /ATA/- Rain has begun since the early hours of Wednesday seeming to ruin the plans of holiday-makers on the coast.

There was strong wind and rain this morning in almost all the cities of the country as well as at the coastal areas.

Numerous holiday-makers emptied the beaches due to strong winds accompanied by heavy rainfall, especially in the South of the country.

According to the Military Meteorological Service, the rain has started from the northwestern part to spread throughout the country. During the day, it is reported by the Military Meteorological Service, precipitation will remain present from time to time with low to medium intensity.

The rain empties the beach of Velipoja

Even the beach of Velipoja in the north of the country, where many Albanians from Kosovo have chosen to spend their holidays in this unusual season due to the pandemic, was under heavy rain and strong wind, but the holiday-makers did not resist the temptation to walk along the shore.

Strong wind and rain in Vlora and Saranda

As can be seen from the pictures, the south of the country was also under rain and strong winds, causing many holiday-makers to empty the beaches. As the sea is quite rough, Vlora Harbor Authority decided to ban the small vessels from setting sail at sea.

Meanwhile, Saranda woke up this morning under the power of rain, disrupting the plan of holiday-makers, who will have to wait for the weekend to continue to enjoy the beach.

It is reported that the rain that is falling in most of the country has helped to extinguish the forest fires, especially in the areas where the hearths such as Seman have been active for several days.

State Police appealed to vessels not to set sail due to bad weather.

“As a result of bad weather and rough seas, the State Police appeals to all captains of vessels (trawlers, water engines, and any other vessel used for tourism) not to go out to sea until the situation calms down”, said the police./p.s./
