TIRANA, July 22 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama said Wednesday that Albania’s agriculture sector and exports keep growing thanks to the government’s agriculture development policy.
The government head posted a collection of pictures showing arable lands in Albania, saying they are not 3D images, but aerial images of only a small part of croplands in Albania.
“These are neither 3D images, nor aerial images over any EU member state, but are only a part of the arable lands in Albania today,” PM Rama said.
“Thanks to our new agriculture development policy, the continued increase of the financial support for farmers, the special funds to support construction of greenhouses, our country no longer resembles to the abandoned barren lands when seen from above just seven years ago, but it now resembles to a country, where everyone in the countryside earn their living through hard work and sacrifices to grow, produce and export incessantly throughout the year,” Rama said.
The additional state budget fund of 400 000 000 lek for the National Agricultural Support Scheme for 2020 added to the previous fund of 743 900 000 lek, significantly increasing state budget support funds and growing the number of applicants who qualify for subsidies and grants despite shortcomings in meeting the previously determined criteria.
