TIRANA, July 7/ATA/ Almost 250 thousand citizens have benefited the bonus of 40 thousand ALL under the Extended Support Package as part of financial aid made available by the government for employees in all business categories, which were closed or their activity was reduced due to COVID -19 restrictions.
Elida Hoxha is one of the many self-employed people who have benefited the financial assistance of 40 thousand ALL. She owns a household items store in one of the areas of Tirana.
“The application for wartime payment was made online and the form was easy to complete,” she told the Albanian Telegraphic Agency (ATA).
“During this difficult time the government has provided financial relief,” Elida said.
The government, in its financial plan to cope with the situation, provided direct support for small business with an annual turnover of up to 14 million ALL, by disbursing a wartime payment of 26 thousand ALL, while large business benefited from a € 100 million guarantee fund.
The government approved two financial packages that supported citizens and business employees affected by the measures taken to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. The government also increased twice as much the state benefit and unemployment allowance.
