TIRANA, June 19/ATA/ In 2019, vegetable production increased by 7.8% or a total of 1,258,012 tons, the Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) reported.
Meanwhile in 2019, grain production accounted for 666,064 tons.
The highest level of grain production was reached in the region of Fier with 171,480 tons, followed by the regions of Elbasan and Korça respectively with 97,454 tons and 73,776 tons. In 2019, the ratio of import-export of agricultural products was 1/3 .
There has been an increase in financial support for the agricultural sector in 2019 thanks to the 94 million Euros fund is provided by the EU IPARD programme at the value of 71 million Euros and the government of Albania 23 million Euros.//a.i/
