TIRANA, June 19 /ATA/ Minister of Defense, Olta Xhaçka, stated on Friday that “the effort to stabilize and develop our region will be of no avail unless Kosovo fully integrates in the Euro-Atlantic structures, starting with membership in NATO and European Union thereafter. ”
At a joint press conference in Tirana with Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kosovo, Anton Quni, Minister Xhaçka said that “it is always a pleasure to sit down and discuss the opportunities to advance not only the interests of Albanians everywhere in the region, but also the security, stability and development of the whole region. ”
Minister wished success to her counterpart Quni in his new duty.
A really critical moment for the future of Kosovo and its position in the region. But I have no doubt that my colleague Quni, as well as the government led by Prime Minister Hoti and the entire political class in Kosovo, will know how to make the most of this important moment for Kosovo, its citizens and Albanians wherever they are, ” Xhaçka said.
Minister Xhaçka expressed her confidence that they have all the capacities not only to rise to the challenge of negotiations, but also to advance Kosovo’s integration into Euro-Atlantic structures.
There is peace and stability in our region today. Despite the challenges and difficulties that lie ahead of us, extraordinary progress has been made, ” – Xhaçka said.
Given that Montenegro and North Macedonia are fully- fledged members of NATO, it is certainly a guarantee for further consolidation of stability and peace that all the peoples of the region seek.
