Electoral Reform / OSCE/ ODIHR recommendations non-negotiable, reaching consensus very important

TIRANA, May 26 /ATA/ –By I. Vata/ – Socialist lawmaker Alket Hyseni said Tuesday that a compromise will be reached on the electoral reform in the cross-party dialogue soon, stating that the OSCE/ODIHR recommendations are non-negotiable.

In a televised interview, lawmaker Hyseni noted that it was important that a compromise is reached and that the jointly set deadlines are not important.

“This is not a matter of deadlines even though we depend on some developments for the good of Albania, and for these reasons the deadlines have been set, but it is important that a compromise is reached to ultimately set out some rules of the game for all the parties and stakeholders represented at the Political Council. However, I emphasize that the issue of deadlines is not important, but it is important that during the discussions we delve into most important aspects, the OSCE/ODIHR recommendations which are non-negotiable,” Hyseni stated.
