Tailor from Elbasan sewing masks as a humanitarian act

ELBASAN, April 10 /ATA/ Ornela, a well-known tailor and stylist, who used to sew the stage dresses of the most famous singers in our country, today has undertaken a very humanitarian work.

In her atelier, no one enters anymore. Respecting the coronavirus restrictions, she goes in the morning and starts sewing masks not in numbers, but in abundance.

“I have been doing this job for 21 years. I was very sorry to see women, mothers, who for various reasons came out and wore scarves covering their faces. I realized they were missing the masks. In the early days when COVID-19 broke out in our country, I happened to buy several meters of cloth as well as rubber bands. It wasn’t a burden at all for me. From that day until now, I started sewing masks. During the first few days I also engaged my daughter and son, who are under the age of 16, and I started giving the masks first of all to my neighbors. It’s been about three weeks since that day and I’m still doing the same thing, “said Ornela.

Ornela’s humanitarian act was naturally inspired; perhaps this was the only help she can give in these difficult days that the nation is going through.

And as she continues to sew masks mostly for people in need, Ornela feels optimistic.

“I feel really good when I think that my masks have saved many people so far so that they are not infected by the virus,” said she./k.s/ /p.s./
