TIRANA, February 28 /ATA/-The U.S. Special Envoy to the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue Richard Grenell reacted to Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti decision to lift tariffs on imports of raw materials from Serbia and from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Grenell emphasized that the U.S. stance on this issue is crystal clear.
“We do not support Prime Minister Kurti’s half measure. Our position is quite clear: the tariffs must be completely dropped. Mr Kurti is making a serious mistake – and that was made clear to President Thaçi at the White House today”, said Grenell.
Kurti said on Thursday that the tax on Serbian goods will be lifted partially on March 15. But, if Serbia and the EU will not react, the tax will be restored again 100% on June 15.
Kurti expects that the Serbian authorities stop their campaign against recognition of Kosovo Independence and eliminate trade barriers on Kosovo./gj.mima/p.s./
