Lleshaj: An operation within legal framework in cooperation with SPAK

TIRANA, February 2/ATA/-The assets of the organized crime will be sequestrated in the framework of the anti-“Catch what you can” (KÇK) legislation and they will be used for modernization of the State Police.

Minister of Interior Sandër Lleshaj made the statement while also warning politics against attacking the police.

Being at the Department of Neutralization of Armed Elements, the RENEA, where the Operation Force of Law (OFL) Unit has been trained, Lleshaj conveyed a crystal clear message to the political class in the country and the persons involved in the world of crime.

“Change the target of political attack. The police cannot be a target. And to those who have gone astray, I say, it is never late to repent. It is simply a matter of time, the criminal journey will be interrupted”, said Lleshaj.

The interior minister said that the sequestrated assets will be used for modernization of the State Police.

“The anti-KÇK package marks an unprecedented escalation of fight against illicit wealth of the organized crime. The operation will be conducted together with Special Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime Structure (SPAK), the law enforcement agencies and the partners in context of well-defined law. The financial source that keeps crime alive allures many young people to go astray. All declared or hidden wealth will be the target”, said Lleshaj.

According to the minister, the package provides a new authority to the police, new tasks and means for achievement of the major goal against crime./j.p/p.s./
