TIRANA, December 5/ATA/-The Chairperson of the Parliamentary Economy and Finance Committee as well as Head of the Commission for Management of the Aid Fund Arben Ahmetaj said to the Parliament convened in plenary session today that the Reconstruction Programme will begin implementation on January 1 and it will not affect the Budget 2020 parameters.
While considering tragic the loss of human lives, the damage of the property and the psychological trauma that the people suffered during the earthquake of November 26, Ahmetaj said that solidarity was the first expression of the emotion felt, while the government is now planning a response to the situation.
He said that the ruling majority will respond using extraordinary instruments while being guided by the motto that, “No one should remain behind”.
Ahmetaj said that Albania will maintain its economic growth trend. “We shall increase no taxes; we shall not affect salaries, investments, services or increase the public debt”.
He reminded that other countries like Japan and the USA have overcome similar natural disasters by using 2-3% of the GDP./a.gjonaj/ /a.g/p.s./
