TIRANA, November 6/ATA/- French Ambassador to Albania Christina Vasak stated Wednesday that, the EC decision to not open accession talks will not close Albania’s door to the EU.
“EC decision to not open accession talks will not close Albania’s door to the EU. It is a solemn decision, but it is not a definitive interpretation of closing the EU doors for Albania, because an ongoing meeting is expected to be held during the Zagreb summit. The Zagreb summit is of great importance because Croatia will assume the presidency in the Council of Europe,” Vasak said.
In her speech, the Ambassador Vasak said that, “not only Croatia, but all member states of the European Union will play a crucial role in this decision. We have to reach a unanimous decision.”
“France and French President Emmanuel Macron have made their support clear for Albania and all other countries seeking EU membership,” Vasak added. //a.i/
