TIRANA, Nov 5 /ATA/ – Cybercrime and cybersecurity are the two pressing issues in the Albanian legislation that were up for discussion at a meeting of the Regional Security Committees at the Assembly of Albania on Tuesday.
The chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Security Ermonela Felaj, following an annual meeting of representatives of defence and security committees from South-East Europe parliaments that is taking place in Tirana, noted that the two major security concerns will soon be reflected in the Albanian legislation.
“A good opportunity for the Albanian Parliament and the Security Committee, which will host the two-day meeting of the region’s Security Committees! Cybercrime and Cybersecurity remain two issues we have yet to recognize and reflect on our legislation, which should undoubtedly defend the fundamental freedoms and rights, the security of our citizens, our democratic system. Thank you DCAF and RACVIAC for supporting and accepting our invitation for this activity to be held in the Albanian Parliament!” Felaj said.
The Parliamentary Committee on Security, in collaboration with the SEE Europe Centre for Security Cooperation “RACVIAC” and the Geneva Center for the Democratic Control of the Armed Forces “DCAF”, is hosting a two-day annual Meeting of the representatives of defence and security committees from South-East Europe parliaments in Tirana. The event brought together 65 representatives from Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia and Turkey.
