TIRANA, October 26/ATA/-There are informative tables along the road reading “National Park of Valbona” and show the way toward an area of exploration and adventure.
Valbona Tourism Development Center is located in the Margegaj administrative unit of Tropoja Municipality and lies on the road near the center of Valbona village, 25.5 km away from Bajram Curri.
Here the air is cold, clean and rich in oxygen while the untrained lungs of the people from the city need some time to adapt to breathing.
Besides the wonderful nature, there are the guesthouses and cottages scattered around the area. The smoke in their chimneys seems to announce they are ready to welcome local and foreign guests in line with the tradition. There are some existing inns while others are being rebuilt because there is a growing demand, as the local residents say.
While moving by car in the area you will notice some wooden houses with green roofs which are under construction. They are contemporary buildings, preserving the traditional architecture of the area.
The Albanian Development Fund is implementing the project of building a tourism development center in Valbona.
Valbona Tourism Development Center will extend over an area of 4180 m2 and the main structures are: 2 office buildings; bar and the hotel for accommodation of the tourists. There will also be a room of first medical aid equipped with all the necessary medicaments and logistics necessary because of the geographical distance from the cities. As part of recreational facilities, there is planned to be built even a sauna for about 12 people while for children will have their playground.
Culinary is part of tourism, too. To promote modern cuisine and traditional foods there will be an open-air restaurant, experimental cuisine, and training courses on cooking.
There is also planned to be opened a souvenir shop that will contain handicrafts and food products from the area such as: marmalade, honey, various spices etc., really a characteristic gift from Valbona for all the tourists.
Meanwhile, the existing warehouse will also provide bicycles and other snow equipment./p.s./
