TIRANA, Oct 7 /ATA/ – Albanian banking system has rebounded this year.
The Bank of Albania said on Monday that the share of total bank assets was estimated at around 1.49 trillion lek or around 12.1 billion euros at end of August.
According to the central bank, the country’s banking system expanded by around 2% compared to the same period of the previous year. The total bank assets account for around 92% of the country’s GDP.
Economy and finance experts say that this year’s growth of banking system is mainly driven by expansion of deposits, which are the main source of financial resources for banks.
