Agricultural subsidies/1476 applications up to September

TIRANA, October 4 /ATA/- There is a growing interest of the farmers in the National Support Scheme. Hence, they are applying more and more to the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency to benefit funding from the Scheme and make new investments in agriculture and livestock.

According to the recent data provided by the Agriculture and Rural Development Agency the number of applications has reached to 1476. This figure does not include production submission applications for fishing boats.

The government approved at the beginning of the current year the criteria on how the 5m-euro subsidy fund, approved in the 2019 budget for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, will be allocated.

About 4m Euros will be used mainly to increase the competitiveness of livestock and fishery products as well as lower production costs through the payment of matriculated animals, for the delivery of milk, anchovies and sardines, while some will go towards supporting the diversification of economic activities in rural areas.

An additional € 1m will go to grants for the “Sustainable Development of the Olive Sector” project, and will be used to increase olive-planted areas, improve mechanization and increase olive oil production capacity. /e.xh/j.p/p.s./
