TIRANA, Oct 3 /ATA/ – The average weighted yield on the Albanian government securities edged down for first time, following a steady upward trend over the past six months.
According to the data published by the Bank of Albania, the average yield on the 12-month bills sold at the last auction was 2.18%, down from 2.26% at the previous actions held in September.
Adequate liquidities and the increased demand from the investors to purchase the government securities have contributed to the decline of yield on T-bills.
At the latest auction, central bank said that bid for purchasing government securities was estimated at around 11.9 billion lek from a total of 8.7 billion lek the Ministry of Finance had sought to raise had required, through the auction of the 12-month and 6-month T-bills.
