TIRANA, Oct 2 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ The Council of Ministers has taken a decision Wednesday on conduct of an array of in-depth studies in territorial planning related to natural disasters.
Making an overview of the govt. decisions on post-quake situation, PM Edi Rama highlighted the importance of this decision. “The earthquake was one of them and luckily it is not a common occurrence as are floods or wildfires,” he said.
Therefore, according to Rama, it is an obligation for institutions to focus their attention on this element that has been missing in the past.
Rama touched on another decision on organization, functioning and remit of voluntary policing.
We are following in the footsteps of other countries which promote civic engagement in support of State Police in the event of natural disasters, he said.
