TIRANA, Oct 1 /ATA/ – Albania’s largest port of Durres handled a total of 54 cargo ships in September only, the port authority said on Tuesday.
Data from the Durres Port Authority show that Western Cargo Terminal has processed the biggest number of cargo vessels.
According to data, as many as 30 cargo ships and around 83.713 tonnes of goods, including wheat, iron, roofing iron sheets, fertilizers, melamine, glass etc, have been handled in this terminal.
In the meantime, some 8 merchant ships, with a total amount of 56.202 tonnes of goods have been handled in the Eastern Terminal, including the Nordtajo” and “Martigny” cargo ships that transported around 32.600 tonnes of coal.
As many as 16 container ships with a total of 12 704 containers have been processed at the Containers Terminal in September.
