Application for new ID cards according to new schedule

TIRANA, September 27/ATA/- Deputy Minister of Interior Rovena Voda carried out an inspection at the premises of the Agency for the Delivery of Integrated Services ADISA in Unit no. 6 Tirana, where the people apply for biometric identity documents.

Accompanying Voda in this inspection was with Tirana MP Blerina Gjylameti and the Administrator of the “Kombinat” municipal unit Adriatik Merko.

The deputy minister stated that in order to help the citizens whose documents expire within the current year there has been drafted a schedule for the applications, allowing only the citizens whose ID cards expired in January – April 2009 to apply in October; in November those whose IDs expired in May – August 2009 and the rest in December.

This division, emphasized Voda, should be observed because otherwise the citizens who exceed the deadlines will be able to apply only in January 2020.

The Parliament extended the validity term of documents expiring within 2019 in order to make it easier for the citizens to perform services due to this year’s election process. It is now up to every citizen to apply in time to obtain a new identity document, either ID or biometric passport.

During the inspection, Deputy Minister Voda stated that, “What I see is exactly the large influx of people, if we look at the “Aleat” application posts. So the influx of the people is huge; they are still applying for ID cards and biometric passports. ”

MP Blerina Gjylameti, stated that, “A few months ago, we made a decision to extend the deadline for the expiration of the validity of ID documents, IDs and passports, so as not to create problems with voting or the citizens exercising the right to vote. Today, we are at a point where we are approaching another deadline, where a large number of citizens have their ID documents expired.”

“On the other hand, several points have been opened in Tirana where citizens can apply and receive an easy  service,” said MP Gjylameti./p.s./
