TIRANA, Sept 7 /ATA/ Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Bledi Çuçi visited in Lushnja an agro- processing plant.
Zdrava ”Ltd has been operating in domestic and foreign market for several years. Its products have been exported to the US for a long time, besides European countries.
Minister Çuçi said that agro-processing industry is one of the main pillars that will continue to be supported with funding through the National Scheme and IPARD Program.
“We will prioritize agro-processing sector. It is one of the sectors worldwide that has made the difference in agricultural production. In addition to promoting greenhouses or other sectors of agriculture and rural development, for us agro-processing is one of the pillars to ensure qualitative increase in agricultural production. This business has also applied to IPARD program and I believe it will be incentivized, ”said Minister Çuçi.
He further focused on difficulties of these businesses in finding workforce. This prevents them from growing further and increasing their capacity. The minister said that perhaps the time has come for the labor market to open to foreigners as well.
About 150 people work at agro- processing factory ‘Zdrava’ Ltd. This business has supply contracts with over 200 farmers in the Myzeqe area. In addition to collecting the farmers’ production, ‘Zdrava’ ltd assists them in cultivation of crops and plants.
Stimulation of agro-processing industry in the country is one of priorities for Ministry of Agriculture. This sector generates plenty of work places.
