TIRANA, September 2/ATA/- The distribution of free textbooks for pupils of the fifth grade has started today in line with the government promise.
After distributing free textbooks for the first time last year, Prime Minister Edi Rama promised that this year the government relevant structures would be distributed free textbooks even to the fifth-grade students.
Education Minister Besa Shahini announced today that distribution of free textbooks for fifth grade pupils has also begun.
“The distribution of FREE textbooks has begun with the promise kept that this school year includes Class V. The 2019-2020 school season includes free textbooks for all children in Class I – V as well as up to Class XII, for all children coming from families living on economic assistance or with special needs ”, – writes Prime Minister Rama on the social media.
Last year, about 125,000 pupils from the first up to the fourth grades received free textbooks. For the new school year 2019-2020, the number of beneficiaries has increased to 155 thousand, as fifth grade pupils have been added to the scheme.
The distribution of textbooks has started today and closes a few days before school begins. /z.tosku/j.p/p.s./
