TIRANA, Sept 1 /ATA/- Lear has rightly described Kruja as the town of charm perching on an extraordinary rag. Beyond history, it offers an unexplored blend of nature.
It starts with the blessing from the tekkes on Mount Kruja, the breathtaking scenery while walking on the medieval cobbled streets, the majesty of Qafështama National Park, Mount Gamti or the canyons of river Zeza and Droja.
To prolong the tourist season in Kruja, in addition to tourism of culture, its tourist guide has been diversified with natural resources.
To the municipality of Kruja, natural tourism is a priority on their agenda given its place on the package “VisitKruja.”
The fact that we have 45 cultural and natural monuments, about 15 trails for adventure tourism, artificial lakes, historical or religious traditions, a geographical position that starts from 50 meters above the sea level up to 1723 meters with Maja of Liqenit, all historical periods have their trace in Kruja, from antiquity, early or late medieval times, National Hero, Prime Minister, King Zog’s destination, fantastic caves full of medieval treasures, bridges and cobbled alleyways are all we need for our challenge of 1 million tourists ”, says Drini Masha, the chief for Kruja tourism.
Currently, the municipality of Kruja and the National Agency of Protected Areas are crafting the “Outdoor Kruja” strategy which links up local products to the tourist market, thus complementing the cultural tourism, which is increasing by 15% -20% on a yearly basis.
