TIRANA, Aug 27 /ATA/ Sea transport continues to be the most popular and economical route for passengers.
INSTAT published data on freight and passenger transport citing 715,797 passengers traveling by sea in 2019, up 5.4% compared to previous year.
According to INSTAT, the number of passengers traveling by sea in July 2019 reached 232,975. Compared to July 2018, this indicator recorded a negligible decline.
The port of Durrës has seen the highest flow of passengers alongside those of Saranda, Vlora and Shengjin recording several- fold figures compared to the corresponding period the previous year.
INSTAT sources say that in July 2019, air transport of passengers accounted for 61,3 % of entire transport volume. /e.xh/sm/
