TIRANA, August 6 /ATA/- Monday midnight was the deadline of applications online for university studies while there are about 24,000 high school graduates who have expressed interest in selecting 1 to 10 study programs.
The interested candidates had a 6 day period to complete the applications.
The results the pupils have achieved during the three years of high school and the marks they have got at the 4 state final exams are the key criteria for entering the university. The U-albania portal has not received applications from high school graduates who have not met the GPA requirement, which according to the decision of the Council of Ministers has increased from 7 to 7.5 for the teaching branch, and from 6 to 6.5 for other study programs. So, graduates who did not reach the 6.5 GPA are likely to choose higher vocational schools.
On September 2, the universities will announce the list of winning candidates. For the remaining vacancies there will be 2 more rounds for high school graduates who have not earned a college degree or claim a better school than what they achieved in the first phase./z.tosku/p.s./
