TIRANA, July 24 /ATA/ – Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj reacted Wednesday to an ongoing protest against plans to demolish the National Theatre building in the Albanian capital, saying that the same group of people have always launched movements opposing the country’s progress.
“This very same group first protested against playgrounds at the Artificial Lake Park, followed by protest to oppose reconstruction of Tirana’s main square, the New Bazaar Project, the Boulevard, the National Arena, the elections in the country and they are now opposing construction of a new national theatre building,” Veliaj said, posting footages showing the already complete projects in Tirana.
“Have you noticed that movements against the country’s progress are always done by this very same group, Democratic Party, the Socialist Movement for Integration and their militants,” Veliaj said.
