TIRANA, July 6 /ATA/- The Albanian Government investment in the Tourism Center in Valbona provides the reconception of a multifunctional center that offers accommodation, information for visitors, spaces for offices as well as for new tourist initiatives.
The project on the reconstruction of Valbona Tourism Center is funded by the Government of Albania, the Council of Europe Development Bank and the Albanian Development Fund.
The interventions consist of the architectural and functional restoration of the two existing facilities to accommodate the new functions of the center.
This investment foresees the construction of 4 bungalows to respond to the visitors needs during the peak tourism season, designed to project an image of the traditional architecture of the area.
Another intervention will be made in one of the souvenir shops, to promote art and products of the area.
More than 120 thousand local and foreign tourists visit Valbona every year.
Currently, the most popular tourism experienced by a large number of visitors in the Valbona Valley is the mountain tourism, but the whole area has a large number of other attractions that are still untapped.
The project aims to increase the standard of activities and services provided in the area, diversification of the tourist offer and promotion of new tourism initiatives.//a.i/
