Basha: Opposition not to backtrack on battle for democracy

TIRANA, July 3 /ATA/ – The Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha affirmed Wednesday that the opposition was determined to go on with what he called “a battle to dismantle dictatorship and save democracy and the country’s Constitution.”

Answering to reporters after a meeting with the college of the DP chairmen whether the opposition mayors would leave their offices to be replaced by the newly elected mayors, Basha said: “Again, I would like to thank from my heart over 85 percent of the Albanians who refused dictatorship on June 30.”

Basha said that opposition had decided to stage a fresh anti-government rally next Monday.

“A protest to stay united with deep gratitude, self-confidence and confidence in each other and decisively go on, without taking a step back, with our battle to dismantle democracy and for democracy, constitution, children, your families and future of European Albania,” Basha stated.
