TIRANA, June 29/ATA/- The National Historical Museum in Tirana staged the exhibition entitled “Spiritual Heritage through Musical Instruments”.
The exhibition has put on display original objects from the National Historical Museum fund. Among them are objects of Albanian personalities, such as the manuscript of Hilë Mosi, the oboe of Fan Noli, the violin of People’s Heroes Qemal Stafa and Ylbere Bylykbashi.
Director of the National Historical Museum Dorian Koçi said that, “Among the main features of Albanian spiritual heritage are various songs and dances, prose and folk poetry, popular games, as well as the necessary instruments accompanying them.
While academician and renowned musicologist Vasil Tole stressed that: “Foreigners have always reflected the traditional Albanian dressed in a popular costume carrying a weapon in the belt, but in fact except the weapon, a musical instrument has been part of the Albanian tradition. The instrument had a great weight in the popular tradition. The craftsmanship of traditional instruments is going towards extinction, so this exhibition should make us more aware of keeping this popular tradition alive. ”
The exhibition was opened for the purpose of preserving and protecting the values of spiritual heritage created by Albanians over the centuries. These values, unique and diverse in their way of creation, transmission, and performance, constitute one of the pillars of the Albanian cultural identity./a.a/ /a.g/p.s./
