TIRANA, June 25/ATA/- Korça Regional Directorate of National Culture working group has been engaged in the restoration of the St. George’s Church, in Vithkuq one of the most beautiful religious buildings in Albania.
St. George’s Church in Vithkuq was declared a cultural monument in 2015. During 2018, the experts of the Korça Regional Directorate of National Culture has made emergency interventions in restoration of the roof, the structure,as well as the surrounding wall of the church.
“The restoration works of the St. George’s Church in Vithkuq, funded by Favina company are already underway, and have entered the second phase of interventions,”the Korça Regional Directorate of National Culture announced.
According to the Korça Regional Directorate of National Culture, the intervention consisted in the restoration of the roof degradation and avoidance of moisture and the preservation of post-Byzantine Wall Painting.//a.i/
