TIRANA, June 21 /ATA/ – The opposition supporters gathered in the ninth national rally in Tirana on Friday evening.
The non-parliamentary opposition supporters marched along Tirana’s Martyrs of the Nation Boulevard main to gather in front of the Prime Minister’s office.
Chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha said earlier that he would be accompanied by his spouse and their two daughters during the protest.
The State Police have taken measures to ensure peaceful conduct of the protest, creating a security cordon around the government building.
The Democratic Party and Socialist Movement for Integration lawmakers have relinquished their parliamentary mandates in February and are calling for the government to step down and form a transitional government to lead the country to early elections.
